The Fourth Winner of the Milk Bowl Memories Contest Announced
Thunder Road has announced this week’s (Wednesday, May 2) winner in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest as Greg Gilbert of Milton, Vermont. Gilbert is the fourth winner of a pair of tickets to the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl scheduled for Sunday, September 30.
Gilbert’s memory is from the 1967 Milk Bowl (won by Larry Demar) and he was 7 years old at the time: “I saw my first Milk Bowl in 1967 at age 7 with my Mom and Dad. The little blue #1 Ford of Larry Demar looked like he was on a string as he ran the outside groove to claim wins in each of the 3 segments. His victory was recreated countless times on a small braided rug with matchbox cars that were numbered, painted and hammered to resemble the Tigers of that era. The memory of that Milk Bowl and the rug races are with me forever. Good times.”
The fifth of 20 winners in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest will be announced next Wednesday, May 9. That winner will receive another pair of Milk Bowl tickets. All 20 ticket winners from now until Wednesday, August 22 will then be eligible for two (2) season passes for the 2013 season at Thunder Road. That winner will be decided based on a poll on the Thunder Road website between the 20 memory winners. Last Updated Wednesday, May 02 2012 @ 01:09 PM EDT; 522 Hits
