The Eighteenth Winner of the Milk Bowl Memories Contest Announced
Thunder Road has announced this week’s (Wednesday, August 8) winner in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest as Gene Garneau of Attleboro, MA. Garneau is the eighteenth winner of a pair of tickets to the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl scheduled for Sunday, September 30.
Garneau’s memory is of the 1995 Milk Bowl (won by Dave Whitlock) and he was 32 years old at the time: “I have been going to the Milk Bowl since 1991, only missed two since. Me and my friend Scott camped at the track Saturday. It was the first time I saw Booth Bros. Pole Day. That day Sylvain Metivier set a track record. I had never heard of him! When Ken interviewed him, he had a strong French accent, the Canadians in the crowd went nuts. It really showed how much of an international event the Milk Bowl is.”
The nineteenth of 20 winners in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest will be announced next Wednesday, August 15. That winner will receive another pair of Milk Bowl tickets. All 20 ticket winners from now until Wednesday, August 22 will then be eligible for two (2) season passes for the 2013 season at Thunder Road. That winner will be decided based on a poll on the Thunder Road website between the 20 memory winners. Last Updated Wednesday, August 08 2012 @ 09:09 AM EDT; 418 Hits
