The Sixteenth Winner of the Milk Bowl Memories Contest Announced
Thunder Road has announced this week’s (Wednesday, July 25) winner in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest as Corey Day of Williamstown, VT. Day is the sixteenth winner of a pair of tickets to the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl scheduled for Sunday, September 30.
Day’s memory is of the 1983 Milk Bowl (won by Robbie Crouch) and he was 10 years old at the time: “My first Milk Bowl memory was back in 1983 when I was only 10 years old. The “Tampa Tornado” Robbie Crouch became my favorite driver after seeing how fast that car was around Thunder Road! I remember thinking how loud it was in the stands when he was announced the Champion, I realized very quickly he was truly one of the greats at T-Road along with my other favorite “Dynamite” Dave Dion. Robbie Crouch went on to win two more Milk Bowls before I graduated in 1991. I was thrilled when Robbie Crouch came back a few years ago after some personal issues. I was telling my kids about my childhood at The Road rooting for the #48 car and walking through the pits getting autographs after the race. Now that I am all grown up and have a wife and three boys we will all be staying at T-Road for Milk Bowl weekend this year!”
The seventeenth of 20 winners in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest will be announced next Wednesday, August 1. That winner will receive another pair of Milk Bowl tickets. All 20 ticket winners from now until Wednesday, August 22 will then be eligible for two (2) season passes for the 2013 season at Thunder Road. That winner will be decided based on a poll on the Thunder Road website between the 20 memory winners. Last Updated Wednesday, July 25 2012 @ 11:01 AM EDT; 567 Hits
