The First Winner of the Milk Bowl Memories Contest Announced

Thunder Road has announced the first winner of the Milk Bowl Memories Contest as Jim Reardon of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Reardon won the first of 20 pairs of tickets to the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl scheduled for Sunday, September 30.

Reardon’s memory is from the 1989 Milk Bowl (won by Kevin Lepage) and he was 36 years old at the time: “We drove from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Vermont for the race. It was my three sons and my nephew. My 10 and 12 year old sons were sitting in a tree between turns two and three when two cars crashed, pushing one across the grass right up to the tree. My two sons looked like they saw a ghost and my heart skipped a beat as I thought the car was going to knock them out of the tree. But all ended well. I still go to Thunder Road and love the small tracks. Thanks for the memories. – Jim Reardon”

The second of 20 winners in the Milk Bowl Memories Contest will be announced next Wednesday, April 18. That winner will receive another pair of Milk Bowl tickets. All 20 ticket winners from now until Wednesday, August 22 will then be eligible for two (2) season passes for the 2013 season at Thunder Road. That winner will be decided based on a poll on the Thunder Road website between the 20 memory winners.
