Waterbury, VT – Five Star Race Car Bodies has renewed its agreement with the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) to be the “Official Body” of ACT and Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in 2005. Located in Twin Lakes, WI, Five Star has been instrumental in the development of the ABC body concept, which has been adopted by the ACT Late Model Tour in 2005.The ABC body program was created to establish a universal standard for the bodies used on most Late Model stock cars. With the cooperation of Five Star and other top manufacturers, the aerodynamically identical ABC bodies have quickly become a leading option in many short track series, including ACT.
were joined at the Berlin Mall by a couple of PowerShift Junkyard Warriors. The Late Model of Jerry Lesage, Tiger Sportsmen Tom Therrien, Scott Coburn (right), and Travis Paquet, and Street Stock rookies Kyle Tatro and Ron Gabaree had their fine looking machines on display, with a very nice spectrum of colors among them. And to the credit of Warrior guys James Dopp and Dave LaFleche, at least the leftover wrinkles in their cars were covered with shiny new paint! Special thanks goes to each of those drivers for helping the show a success, and thanks also to Cris Michaud, Nick Sweet, Justin Hart, and Joe Small for helping out with Sunday’s autograph session.
The rivalries established last year are beginning to heat up again, and the radical new qualifying format, splitting ACT regulars from Lee USA regulars has everyone buzzing. If you buy into the internet message board trash-talking, you’d think this is going to be an all-out war. Whether a war breaks out or not remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – we’ll have a HUGE number of troops on the front line. To date, ACT has received 41 official entries. Lee USA General Manager Peter Watson expects as many as 25 Lee USA regulars to attend the big dance. We’re not claiming to be math whizzes here, but it looks like we could have more than 60 cars in the pits!
