Barre, VT - Thunder Road's Late Model competitors look to add their names to the impressive list of previous Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic winners in Sunday's 41st running at the quarter-mile high-banked oval. Steeped in history, the 100-lap Late Model race had a winner's list that reads like a who's who among the region's elite drivers. Twenty-six different hot shoes have carried the Memorial Day checkers but just four (Dave Dion, Jean-Paul Cabana, Robbie Crouch and Russ Ingerson) have been victorious more than once.

BARRE, VT - On April 30, the Saturday before the originally scheduled Merchants Bank 150 season opening event at Thunder Road, over 100 cars turned out for the annual stock car show. This year's extravaganza, held on Main Street in Barre City drew some 3,000 people according to police estimates. At the end of the car show the participating cars paraded from downtown to the racetrack.

BARRE, VT - Thunder Road's NAPA Sportsmen, Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Powershift Warriors had their season opening events in conjunction with the ACT Late Model Tour's Merchants Bank 150 on Sunday, May 15. Like the traveling teams, the locals were thankful to track management for waiting out the persistent rain. And for three drivers, the patience especially paid off.
