THUNDER ROAD UPS SUPER SERIES BONUS MONEY TO $20,000
Thunder Road General Manager Tom Curley announced Thursday night at the track's driver meeting, that the high banked, quarter-mile oval has raised the "Triple Crown Sweep" bonus to $20,000 for the driver who can win all three of the previously announced ACTion Super Series races. The most recent revelation increases the excitement surrounding the year-end events.

"All we've heard is that it's impossible to win all three" Curley stated referring to the Sept 4 Bond Auto Labor Day Classic, the REMAX Alliance National 150 on Sept. 25 and the New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl. "I bet that with this kind of money on the line, there will be a lot of competitors who will be burning the midnight oil making sure that their car is prepared," the 2004 short track promoter of the year finished.
When the ACTion Super Series was announced a few weeks ago, a $5,000 bonus had been put in place for the lone competitor who could sweep the Series. Now, that five grand, dubbed the "Triple Double Dip," will be made available to the driver who can win two of the three events.
"That kind of money is unheard of at this level - someone could go home with $50,000," remarked a slightly stunned Eric Williams, "In reality, that's a `make a living kind of wage.' I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of cars come out of the woodwork - I'm fairly certain the Canadians will come back down. With that kind of money on the line there is justification to spend some money to get prepared."
He continued, "I know that Tom's announcement has traveled pretty far in just a few days - I got a call from the guy who built my car - he lives in Maine and he asked a lot of questions. I'm sure there will be a lot of non-regulars looking for cars, " the 2003 winner of the New England Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl finished.
The Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road, the 46 year-old high banked, quarter-mile oval, kicks off Late Model month on September 4. Discount tickets for the event go on sale at all 32 Bond Auto locations across Vermont and New Hampshire in early August.
