Thunder Road SpeedBowl
Management at Barre, Vermont's Thunder Road Int'l Speedbowl
has announced that they will not raise admission prices when Nextel Cup Super
Star, Ken Schrader, makes an appearance at the track. Adult admission for the
Fisher/Federated Auto Parts Trophy dash on Thursday, July 21 will be the
regular weekly price of $9.00. The price for children (ages 6-12) will be the
normal $3.00, and two adults and two kids (ages 6-12) will be able to get in for
the "Family Fare" of $18.00. The adults and kids don't have to be related to
use the family ticket package.

Schrader, a Fenton, MO native, is coming to the high-banked, quarter-mile oval for more than a typical visit by a member of stock car racing's elite. Known as a racer's racer, the 50 year old competitor collects starts at American short tracks like some people collect baseball cards. It's not uncommon to find Schrader racing upwards of 180 times a year. And since Schrader has wanted to add a Thunder Road notch in his belt for several years, he's coming to the "Nation's Site of Excitement" to race.
And race he will in a top-notch car. Schrader will pilot a car from the stables of multi-time Thunder Road Late Model Champion, Phil Scott of Montpelier, VT that's being prepared by crew chief Pete Duto. Heading into this Thursday's double point mid-season championship race on Scott sits fourth in points with one win. "We're preparing Schrader's car the same way we prepare Phil's, going with the same set up. It will probably be a case of the driver adapting to the car rather than us having to change the car a lot," Duto commented.
"Kenny's got so much experience to draw from, racing all kinds of cars at lots of different tracks. He should be able to figure Thunder Road out," he finished.
Post time for Thunder Road's Thursday night events on July 14 and July 21 is 7:00 pm. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 pm both days.
