Thunder Road SpeedBowl
BARRE, VT - The Booth Brothers "Cream of the Crop" award for outstanding performance by a competitor in the WDEV Trophy Dash at Barre's Thunder Road went to Morrisville, Vermont's Pete Fecteau.
Fecteau, the 1997 Late Model "King of the Road" and 2001 ACT Tour Champion had started third on the grid and nearly fell back out of the top ten early in the race. Fighting an ill handling race car he climbed his way back in to a second place finish after passing then runner-up Joey Laquerre on the final lap around the quarter-mile oval. It was this outstanding performance in Thursday's 50-lap main event that led track officials to select the veteran Late Model driver over the other 125 competitors in the pit area.
In its second year, the Booth Brothers "Cream of the Crop" award honors one driver from across Thunder Road's four divisions who turns in a notable performance at each of 14 designated race events. Fecteau, will receive his award and its $100 cash bonus prior to the start of Thursday's Parts Plus trophy dash. Post time at the high banked, quarter mile oval is 7:00 pm.
