Gallison Named ACT Director Of Competition
Waterbury, VT – Former American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Thunder Road Int’l Speebowl racer Dean Gallison of Middlesex, VT has been named Director of Competition by ACT President Tom Curley. Gallison has been on the ACT technical inspection staff since stepping out of the driver’s seat in 1997, and was recently honored at the annual ACT Banquet of Champions as a recipient of the Francis “Bubby” Wilder Dedication Award.

“With the changing of our business by the lease of Airborne Raceway and the formation of the new Tiger Sportsman Tour, we realize the need for additional senior management,” Curley said. “Dean has shown every sign of being able to take on more responsibility with our various programs, and has been a dedicated and caring official. I am happy that he has agreed to take on these new and challenging responsibilities.”

In his new position, Gallison will remain an integral member of the ACT/Thunder Road inspection staff, and will oversee race day operations in the pit area. He will also work more closely with the ACT Late Model and NAPA Tiger Sportsman divisions, including traveling on their respective touring series in 2005.

“I’m honored to know that Tom has enough faith in my abilities to offer me this promotion,” said Gallison. “I’m excited about the new challenges I’ll be meeting, and I look forward to working alongside everyone again in the coming season.”

Gallison will assume his new position as Director of Competition as ACT kicks off its 20th season on Sunday, April 24, with the ACT Late Model Tour’s 100-lap opener at Lee USA (NH) Speedway. Thunder Road opens its 46th season on Sunday, May 1 with the ACT Late Model Tour’s Merchants Bank 150, along with events for the NAPA Tiger Sportsman, Allen Lumber Street Stock, and PowerShift Junkyard Warrior divisions.
